MongoDB Installation
http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-debian-or-ubuntu-linux/
or
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-install-mongodb-on-ubuntu-12-04
For instance in my environment:
> sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 7F0CEB10
> sudo echo "deb http://downloads-distro.mongodb.org/repo/ubuntu-upstart dist 10gen" | tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/10gen.list
> sudo apt-get -y update
> sudo apt-get -y install mongodb-10gen
Try command on MongoDB
>mongo
MongoDB shell version: 2.2.2
connecting to: test
> show dbs
db (empty)
local (empty)
test 0.203125GB
> use test
switched to db test
> show collections
foo
system.indexes
